fantastic view of Nagasaki from Glover Garden
Glover Garden was built for Scottish merchant Thomas Glover, who lived and helped in the industrialization of Japan in the late 19th century. Glover was involved in many businesses including ship building, coal mining, and beer brewing. The houses in the garden are the oldest western - style houses in Japan. They sit on top of the hill and has a beautiful view of the city and the harbor. Entrance fee is 620yen for adult, and you will also get a ticket for a free photo shoot in front of Glover’s House. #urbanexplorer #glovergarden #nagasaki #kyushu

Pleasant and interesting stroll to this hill side park with houses from second half of 19th century. Mostly for the first foreigners to arrive after Japan’s foreign trade opening in 1851 which were successful in trade and industry, mostly whaling, fishing and shipbuilding. Most convenient is to start with the Glover Sky Elevator, just to the northeast, and then start from the top, only needing to walk downhill.overall this place ok

A stone that makes people happy! You may not know that this Goraba Park in Nagasaki is the site of the story of Puccini's opera "Madame Butterfly". The elevator is very intimate in the park, and visitors can easily reach the top of the park. Today, there are still many ancient houses in the park, such as the Goraba House, the Lin Ge House, and the Old Town House, which are listed in the National Important Cultural Heritage list. Boarding the Western-style wind and the Japanese tradition, the beauty of Nagasaki is unobstructed. Downhill trails can also be filled with romantic heart-shaped stones. It is said that if a couple finds two heart-shaped stones in the territory together, the two people touch the stone with both hands, which will bring happiness.
